BACKGROUND
A Mountain Is A Mouth has travelled a long way since that first weekend of recording back in June 2007.
There
were a handful of all-purpose weekends in project studios around
Toronto. There was a hectic three-day stay at a massive church. Days
spent in the basement of a University, nights holed up in the band's
basement bar. There was even an extended pause in recording to convert
an old garage into a working studio (drywall, acoustiseal and all), and
then days upon days inside it once construction was complete.
For more than a year, A Mountain Is A Mouth was an obsessive mission
for both band and friend, engineer and eventual bandmate Leon Taheny
(best known for his work with Final Fantasy).
Collecting 8 of Bruce Peninsula's original compositions and 2
traditional songs, AMIAM is this band's biggest triumph to date.
